Our Story

We believe in the power of community, compassion, and connection

At Connextions Behavioral Health, we believe in the power of community, compassion, and connection. Founded in 2018 in the heart of Lewiston, Maine, our mission has always been clear: to provide high-quality, accessible addiction and mental health treatment to everyone, regardless of their background.

Maine is a state built on resilience, hard work, and an unwavering sense of community. From the mill towns that shaped generations to the tight-knit neighborhoods that define places like Lewiston, the people here understand the value of supporting one another. That same spirit fuels Connextions Behavioral Health. We recognize that addiction is one of the most stigmatized diseases in the world, and we work tirelessly to break down barriers, ensuring that no one is treated differently because of their past.

What started as a small office in Lewiston has grown into a movement—one that provides a holistic, person-centered approach to recovery. We embrace an unconditional positive regard philosophy, meaning that every individual who walks through our doors is met with respect, dignity, and care—no exceptions. No matter their story, their struggles, or their circumstances, they are welcomed as they are.

At Connextions, we don’t just offer treatment—we build a family. We understand the deep wounds that addiction can leave, not just on individuals, but on entire families and communities. That’s why we work hand in hand with the people of Lewiston and beyond, creating a safe, supportive environment where men and women can reclaim their lives, rebuild relationships, and rediscover their potential.

Our impact continues to grow as we expand services, strengthen partnerships, and advocate for a future where everyone has access to the care they deserve. We remain committed to our founding belief: that recovery is possible for anyone willing to take the first step—and when they do, we’ll be right there beside them.

If you or a loved one is struggling, know this: you are not alone. At Connextions Behavioral Health, we’re not just a treatment center—we’re a community, and we’re here to help.

Our Mission and Philosophy

A Business Philosophy for Connextions Behavioral Health

Why We Were Chosen

At Connextions Behavioral Health, we embrace a mission rooted in humility, service, and the responsibility of helping those who struggle with addiction and mental health challenges. Our work is not about power, prestige, or profit—it is about purpose. Like those who have walked the path before us in recovery, we believe that healing is a gift, and with that gift comes an obligation: to extend a hand to those still suffering.

  • 1. Service Over Status

We are not here because we are the most powerful, wealthy, or influential. We are here because we have been entrusted with the ability to help. Our strength lies in our experience, our willingness to listen, and our commitment to lifting others up. Success is not measured in numbers or accolades but in the lives we touch and the hope we restore.

  • 2. Unselfish Action & Responsibility

Healing is not a passive process—it requires effort, patience, and an unwavering dedication to those in need. No case is too difficult, no day is too long, and no call for help is ignored. We recognize that true service demands sacrifice, but we embrace this responsibility with gratitude.

  • 3. Inclusivity & Compassion

Suffering knows no boundaries of race, religion, or status, and neither does our care. We meet people where they are, offering understanding without judgment. The diversity of those we help only strengthens our mission, reminding us that connection, not division, is the key to lasting recovery.

  • 4. Humility in Success

If our efforts bear fruit, it is not because we are special—it is because we are willing. We are not healers by personal merit but by the grace of experience and the shared wisdom of those who came before us. We do not take credit for transformation; we simply create the space where it can happen.

  • 5. Strength Through Adversity

Criticism, misunderstanding, and challenge are not barriers; they are steps in our growth. Adversity refines us, ensuring that our work remains rooted in authenticity and not ego. We do not shy away from the difficulties of this work, because we understand that every obstacle is an opportunity to deepen our commitment.

  • 6. The Power of Connection

The foundation of our work is relationships—genuine, meaningful Connextions that foster trust, safety, and hope. Recovery is not an individual journey but a shared experience, and we walk alongside those we serve, not ahead of them.

Helping Others is the Rent We Pay

Our Mission

At Connextions Behavioral Health, we believe that our role is not to fix but to guide, not to dictate but to empower.

Our mission is simple:

  • To provide compassionate, evidence-based care that prioritizes the dignity and individuality of each person.
  • To create an environment where those struggling with addiction and mental health challenges feel seen, heard, and valued.
  • To ensure that no call for help goes unanswered and that no person feels alone in their recovery journey.

We do this not out of obligation, but out of a deep understanding that helping others is the rent we pay for our room here on Earth.

This is more than a business—it is a calling. And in answering that call, we honor the gift we have been given: the ability to help someone else find freedom.
